If you've spent any time looking around, you've probably noticed that I write a little differently than many romance authors.

I love romance, but I've always believed that romance shines brightest when it grows naturally from a wonderful story.

That's why every book begins with a mystery, a challenge, a secret, a twist, or an impossible situation. The plot drives the journey. The romance is what brings it to life.

I often describe my stories this way:

The plot is the engine.

The romance is the fuel.

One doesn't work nearly as well without the other.

I write clean, wholesome romance because I believe love brings out the very best in people.

Not just romantic love, but kindness, loyalty, forgiveness, sacrifice, and hope.

Those are the things that stay with me long after I finish a book.

I've always loved stories that leave me feeling a little better than when I started them. The world gives us enough reasons to worry. For a few hours, I want to give readers a place where hope still matters, kindness still matters, and love still has the power to change people.

I also keep my stories shorter than many novels. Most are between 35,000 and 45,000 words, or roughly 170 pages.

Why?

Because sometimes it's wonderful to spend an entire afternoon or evening with a story and reach the final page feeling completely satisfied.

And sometimes a shorter story is exactly what a new reader needs to discover the joy of reading for the first time.
